Prior to writing your estimate our consulting time is free of charge in helping you gather all the information needed to get started. We would review your information and determine how long it will take to write an estimate based on the information supplied to us. Once all the information has been reviewed we will let you know what the contract price is and what it will be to complete the estimate.

Our estimates compile and analyze data on all of the factors that influence costs, such as materials and labor and reviewing various preliminary drawings and specifications, from the customer who provides information for a new estimate and project. Our cost estimator will have an aptitude for mathematics; be able to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed but sometimes poorly defined information and be able to make sound and accurate judgments based on this information. The ability to focus on details, while analyzing and overcoming larger obstacles is essential. It gives our estimates capability to enter line items in sketch, create a remodeling profile, customize documents and provides fast and accurate service.

Residential Consulting & Estimating writes estimates from blueprints or hand sketched drawing. Each professional estimate is written with automated estimating system software consisting of two elements: quantity survey and expense. The quantity survey is an organized list of the quantities of each type of material that goes into the structure. Quantity surveys are made from the construction plans and specifications. The estimate cost converts quantities into expense for labor, material, and equipment and adds subcontracted items, overhead, contingency, and profit to arrive at the total expense.

It is important to have a drawing of the floor plan with dimensions of length, width and floor to ceiling height plus door and window locations and wall offsets and closets of all rooms. This is needed for proper quantity, labor and material costs. The more detailed information that we have will provide a true scope for your project. Your detailed blueprint or scaled floor plan that you provide will be used to create a sketch drawing and is generated as a component of the scope.
